How will it all work out? The House (controlled by the Republicans) and the Senate (Controlled by the Democrats) are nowhere near reaching a resolve on the impending tax crisis. It looks like it is more brinkmanship with the stakes so high.

E-filed a return today, I'm starting to get some of those who filed extensions. Also, CP2000s seem to start arriving this time of year.

I will be attending the University of Kentucky Income Tax Seminar on November 7-8 in Frankfort. I have attended this seminar for several years. I find it well done and informative with an abundance of useful reference materials included in the contents of the registration.

A former co-worker and a tax preparer called today asking about the RTRP exam. I told him what I knew of the test and directed him to a website that advertised a preparation study course.

Many uncertainties regarding the tax ramifications of Obama care. The IRS will be the arm that the government will use to enforce the mandated purchase of insurance. It will be interesting.

July 12

Jan and I went to the Franklin County Farm Field Day at the Peyton Farm on Colston lane. Very intructional. The temperature was in the mid-80s so it was pretty warm out in the sun but there was good shade where we had lunch. Enjoyable.

Some light rain moving in that is starting to cool things to the low eighties. We might be out of the 100 degree days for a while.

Registered today for the 2012 tax seminar put on by the University of Kentucky. It will be held here in Frankfort on November 7-8.

Over the next few weeks or months I will be finding out more about how the health care act will affect income taxes. 2014 will be the year when the penalties (tax) for not purchasing health insurance will kick in. It is going to be interesting.
A glorious and scorching hot Fourth of July. It seems like yesterday we celebrated the bicentennial. Walter Cronkite was covering the activities nearly around the clock. Of course we had been -celebrating for several years prior.

In 2026 we will be celebrating our bicenquinquagenary anniversary. No kidding I looked it up.

July 2 Happy Birthday S.J. Wright

Another day of 100+. Went to Corydon, Indiana area. Got with t-storm that brought M&M size hailstones. We have heard five or so days of 100+. The next ten days will most likely to be in the mid to high nineties. Ouch it is already a long hot summer.
